Hot, unapologetic magenta: Alize Diva 149 is the brighter of the two fuchsias in the line, sitting a clear step lighter and pinker than the berry-toned 326. Under the microfiber sheen it almost fluoresces.
Ball data: 100% microfiber acrylic, 100 grams (3.53 ounces), 383 yards (350 meters), fingering weight, 30 stitches per 4 inches, a 3.5 mm (E) hook and US 1.5-4 needles. Use it for statement summer tops, crocheted bougainvillea, festival bags, or a single bold stripe running through an otherwise neutral blanket.
High-chroma pinks are usually the first to fade, but this one is colourfast and holds its saturation through repeated machine washes at 30 degrees. Reshape it while damp and it dries within a few hours.
